Saturday Night time Dwell’s “Jury Obligation” sketch seems like what occurs when the writers have too many absurd character concepts and resolve to throw them multi function room. The result’s a chaotic courtroom of misfits all making an attempt (and failing) to dodge civic accountability, a lot to the dismay of Ego Nwodim’s more and more unamused decide.
Host Mikey Madison and practically the whole solid rotate by as over-the-top jury candidates, together with a male feminist, a clocked bisexual who’s professional-mass incarceration, a prank-calling radio host who impersonates Jay-Z, and the return of Luigi Mangione —alongside a girl who needs to know if her nudes obtained to him.
Madison performs a “movie star” juror claiming fame as “one of many individuals Caitlyn Jenner hit along with her automobile.” Shockingly, that excuse doesn’t fly.
There’s no actual level to the sketch, and that’s sort of the purpose. It’s dumb, it’s chaotic, and the solid is clearly having a blast.
