NTPA Repertory Theatre presents Oklahoma June 13-June 22. Rodgers & Hammerstein’s first collaboration stays, in some ways, their most modern, setting the requirements and guidelines of recent musical theatre. In a Western territory simply after the flip of the twentieth century, a high-spirited rivalry between native farmers and cowboys gives a colourful background for Curly, a captivating cowboy, and Laurey, a feisty farm woman, to play out their love story. Their romantic journey, as bumpy as a surrey trip down a rustic street, contrasts with the comedian exploits of brazen Ado Annie and hapless Will Parker in a musical journey embracing hope, willpower and the promise of a brand new land.
The four-time Broadway World Dallas award-winning NTPA Repertory Theatre continues its custom of bringing professional-quality theatrical leisure that conjures up audiences and empowers artists from Broadway to the ‘Burbs. This manufacturing is carried out by skilled grownup actors and a part of our Plano Summer time Musical Sequence that includes actors from prime collegiate theatrical applications throughout the nation.
