Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman was scratched from the beginning lineup with left rib discomfort earlier than the season opener towards the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday evening on the Tokyo Dome.
Freeman was initially within the lineup, batting third and taking part in first base. The eight-time All-Star hit .282 with 22 homers and 89 RBIs final season.
The Dodgers shuffled the lineup with out Freeman, transferring Kike Hernandez to first base and placing Michael Conforto in left subject.
The Dodgers and Cubs are taking part in a two-game collection in Japan to open the season. Shortstop Mookie Betts can be out due to an sickness.
